Melody chords
On the melodeon you can play chords on the bass side to accompany the melody. It can sometimes also be useful to play chords on the melody side of the melodeon.

This can be useful, for example, if you are accompanying dancers or playing in a group. You then have many more possible chords than on the bass side alone. The table below shows a number of chords that you can play with the right hand on melodeons in GC tuning and CF tuning with a switched 5th button.
Click on a chord in the table to get the different diagrams of the chord.

Some comments on this table:
-
By "power" we mean "power chords". Power chords consist of the root note and the fifth note. A C chord consists of the notes C E G and a C power chord consists of the notes C and G and is written as C5. They are not actually chords, Power chords are mainly played on guitar in rock and metal music, but can also be used on the meoldeon. They are easy to play and do not distinguish between major and minor, which increases flexibility. It can be compared to omitting the third from the chords on the bass side.
-
The keys 1 and 1' can be switched. In that case the chords in which these buttons are used are of course no longer correct.
-
Only chords are listed with the root note of the chord, so no inversions. There are many more possibilities than are listed in the table.
-
Some chords are difficult to play due to fingering, but are included for the sake of completeness.
